Ent Army is a group of people dedicated to saving the environment and campaigning for the rights of all creatures, specifically trees, but also including plants, animals, fungi and natural spaces.
In Tolkein's The Lord of the Rings, there is a race of beings called Ents, which are basically the walking tree guardians of the forest. They stand up for the trees when they are damaged and attacked by evil, and represent nature to the rest of the world. We hope to be like these Ents and serve as the representatives and guardians of our own natural world.
We also take inspiration from The Lorax, a book by Dr. Seuss. In this book and now movie, there is a creature who represents the trees, saying "I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees for the trees have no tongues." We would like to also serve this purpose as amabssadors for the forest.
Some goals that we have:
- We would like to make our communities and world more eco-friendly by campaigning for environmentally safe practices in our towns, workplaces and schools.
- We would also like to protest actions that are not good for the environment by using non-violent methods such as marching and dressing up as Ents to promote awareness.
- We would like to educate people about issues facing the environment and ways to help.
